Hello! Today is Tues--sorry, Thursday, September 1st, and we are just about to start over the largest mountain that we've been over since the Shenandoahs at least, if not the Smokeys. Gonna have huge elevation gain, over at Mt. Moose Log, and then pretty much be dropped straight down on the backside.

But the best thing is, we waited until it's sunny! It's 8 AM right now, and unlike yesterday (which rained BUCKETS all day), today we have bright blue skies with just a few clouds in the sky, and forecasts for great weather this whole next week. Which is excellent, because we're going to be going to the White Mountains, which is supposed to be some of the most beautiful territory along the whole trail. So this should be really, really exciting.

With luck we'll even get a little bit of sun up on Mt. Washington and be able to see that sparkling sea way off in the distance, where you can barely tell it's there.

So we had a great time staying here at the little hostel. We got a really fun visit in with John and Donna when they came to visit us. They're Stephen's aunt and uncle. Or uncle and aunt, as it may be.

We're looking forward to probably aiming to finish mmmmmaybe the first week in October, around October 8th to 10th or so, when we're looking at right now.

But other than that, everything's going great! We're having a wonderful time, and we're about to get our winter gear, and add about another 5 - 7 pounds to our pack. But the cool thing is we just talked again to the Granite Gear folks, and hooray again for Granite Gear! We love Granite Gear! They said that they're definitely up to sending us at least one, if not both of us, new packs to be able to take the heavier load, 'cos we're already maxing out these ones, which have been fantastic packs. So YAY GRANITE GEAR!

And I think that the next time we'll be in town is a few days from now. Might update. Wish us luck over the hills. We're going to go get our real workout now.

Catch ya later, bye!
